ROC D3 RRC - A new radio remote controlled drill rig from Atlas Copco

2009-09-21

Atlas Copco announces two additional rock drill rigs with built-in radio remote control (RRC) systems: the ROC D3-01 RRC and the ROC D3-03 RRC.
The RRC system in the new ROC D3 RRC models has been designed based on the reliable RRC systems found in the ROC T15 rig and the ROC D7 and D9 rigs from Atlas Copco.

The rod handling system on the 01 model capably manages up to five 3.66 m rods. The 01 rig can be equipped with the R32, T38 and T45 drill steels. The Atlas Copco compressor on the 01 model has a free air delivery capacity of 95 l/s.

The 03 model has a long folding boom with an optional rod rack for manual rod adding and an optional rod adding system to enable the addition of a single extension rod. The 03 rig can be equipped with the R32 and T38 drill steels. The Atlas Copco compressor on the 03 model has a free air delivery capacity of 80 l/s.

Both new ROC D3 RRC models are powered by a 116 kW Cummins engine and offer two rock drill options: the 12 kW COP 1240 and the 16 kW COP 1640.

"The new ROC D3 RCC rigs not only enhance drilling performance and productivity, but also create a safer working environment in harsher, less stable terrain – which  is where you most often rely on these rigs to perform,” says Hakan Aytekin, Product Manager at Atlas Copco.
